The short answer
There are two stripping actions in the range, and the choice is driven by which way the adhesive has to face and how long the label is.
Standard bodies use forward push stripping: the label is pushed off the blade and presented adhesive side up, in the orientation a nozzle picks it up from above. The retract body pulls the backing paper back instead, so the label is left standing at the pickup point with its adhesive side down. Retract models also take longer labels than the standard bodies do.
If your label goes on adhesive side down, you need the retract body. If it does not, the standard body is the simpler answer.
Where the two differ in the data
The differences show up in three places in the model table.

The length range is the difference people miss. A retract body is specified at L10–70, not the L2–40 of the standard range, because the strip geometry is different. A short label that runs happily on a standard body may be outside the retract body’s range, and a long label that the standard body cannot present may be exactly what the retract body is for.
Column count is the other difference. All three retract models are single column. If the job needs several labels side by side in one row, the retract body is not the one to specify.
How to decide
Work through these in order.
- Which way does the adhesive face when the nozzle takes the label? This alone settles it. Adhesive up is the standard body. Adhesive down needs the retract body.
- What is the label length? Compare it with L2–40 for the standard range and L10–70 for the retract range. If your label sits outside the range you first assumed, the other family may be the correct one.
- How many labels per row? More than one column rules out the retract body.
- What is the label width? The retract body covers 2–58 mm, 2–98 mm and 2–148 mm across its three models, so the widest label you place picks the model.
- How much does the machine platform have to carry? The retract bodies run 7 kg, 13 kg and 18 kg. That is heavier than a standard body of similar width, and it is worth checking against the feeder slot.
What to send us

One caution on wording: the retract body’s printed English line reads “Forward push stripping” while the Chinese line on the same page says retract stripping. The mechanism retracts the backing, which is what the Chinese wording describes. We are having the brochure corrected, and the description above follows the mechanism, not the misprint.
