What it is

Labeling machines handle work that is not tied to a placement machine: a separate cell, a packaging line, a sub-assembly, or a board that does not pass through SMT.

Two formats are built:

  • Multi-head vision labeling machine — several heads applying labels in parallel, with vision for position and inspection.
  • Single-head robotic arm labeling machine — one arm presenting labels to parts presented by the machine or an operator.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a labeling machine and a label feeder?

A label feeder supplies labels to a placement machine that already exists on your line, taking a feeder slot so the label is placed with the components. A labeling machine is a standalone station that applies labels on its own, for work away from the placement machine such as a separate cell, a packaging line or a sub-assembly.

Which labeling machine formats does BestFeeder build?

Two formats: a multi-head vision labeling machine, with several heads applying labels in parallel and vision for position and inspection, and a single-head robotic arm labeling machine, where one arm presents labels to parts presented by the machine or an operator. The published multi-head model is LM402.

How are throughput and accuracy determined for the labeling machines?

Throughput and accuracy depend on whether the cell is multi-head vision or single-head robotic, and on the workpiece envelope, the label and the vision configuration, so they are set per project. Send your workpiece, label and target throughput, and we will come back with a model and its datasheet.
