Whether a feeder fits on a slot depends not on its appearance but on numbers in three directions. Every model in the parameter table lists L×W×H, net weight and compatible machine models — these are the inputs for mounting verification. BestFeeder label feeder body lengths range from 620~890 mm, widths from 40 mm to 380 mm, heights from 155~410 mm, with differences mainly from label width and body structure.
Where the three dimensions differ

Length and height mainly follow the placement machine brand: different brands have different slot interfaces and power supply methods, causing body length differences of nearly 300 mm. Width is more direct — a narrow model for 2~23 mm labels is only 40 mm wide, while a wide model for 98 mm labels reaches 135~140 mm. When selecting, saying “it fits” really refers to this dimension.
Verification order: machine first, then feeder
Step one, get the machine constraints. The available width, available height and pickup height of a single slot position are determined by the placement machine, not listed in the feeder parameter table. The pitch between slots in the same row is also a machine specification, not a feeder specification. Before loading, check the machine manual or ask the equipment engineer and write down these three numbers.
Step two, verify body and incoming reel. After the three body dimensions match, check the reel: standard specifications for roll material are inner diameter 76.2 mm and outer diameter 200 mm. Mounting clearance should be reserved so the reel can rotate freely; beyond the body height of 155~410 mm, measure any beam or line body above the slot as well.
Step three, verify pickup travel. The feeder discharge position must fall within the placement machine nozzle pickup travel. The placement accuracy of ±0.2 mm and angle ±0.5° in the parameter table hold only when the body is mounted flat, locked in place and tape tension is normal; if the body is not locked in place or the table is uneven, this specification does not hold.
Weight determines whether it hangs on a slot or sits on a table
Net weights of brand-specific models range from 3.5~9.3 kg, designed to hang on placement machine slots, verified against the machine’s specified single-slot load capacity. Non-standard structural models have more square bodies: the classic LFS-60 is 450×100×340, 6.2 kg, and the upper-screen model LFSID-250S is 570×380×410, 20 kg. These are mostly installed on non-standard fixtures or independent label peeling stations, not in slots, with mounting verified by table load capacity and operator space.
Which production lines need this verification
EMS contract manufacturers with high-mix low-volume lines switch several board types a day, and feeders rotate among several slots, so mounting verification is done almost every line change. 3C consumer electronics and appliance control board lines mix labels with reinforcement materials, with both feeders and standard feeders on the same machine, requiring slot layout planning. Publicly available placement machine application materials in 2026, when discussing feeder installation, list “slot number consistent with program”, “installed flat without looseness” and “pickup position calibrated” as one group of actions — mounting verification is not just about dimensions but also about repeatable positioning after installation.
