The short answer
The mini body exists for platforms where a standard feeder does not fit or where the platform cannot carry the weight. It reaches 98 mm label width, which covers most label work, so choosing it is not the same as accepting a narrow label range.
Two models are built: LFSID-60M at 310 × 160 × 280 mm and 2.65 kg, and LFSID-100M at 340 × 210 × 280 mm and 4.5 kg. Both take labels 2–40 mm long, the same as the standard range.
Where the difference is
The mini body is shorter, shallower and considerably lighter than the standard upper-screen body.
| LFSID-60M | LFSID-100M | LFSID-60S (standard) | LFSID-100S (standard) | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Envelope (mm) | 310×160×280 | 340×210×280 | 450×90×320 | 450×135×320 |
| Weight | 2.65 kg | 4.5 kg | 6.5 kg | 8 kg |
| Label width | 5–59 mm | 5–98 mm | 5–58 mm | 5–98 mm |
| Label length | L2–40 | L2–40 | L2–40 | L2–40 |
| Fibre sensors | 1–6 | 1–8 | 1–6 | 1–8 |
| Loading | L or R | L or R | L or R | L or R |
Two things stand out. The mini body is roughly 40 % of the weight of the standard body at the same label width, and it is narrower in one dimension but taller and deeper in the other — 310 mm along the long axis against 450 mm, but 160 mm across against 90 mm. It is a different footprint, not simply a smaller one, so it is worth checking which dimension is actually tight on your platform.
The label width figures are effectively the same, and so are the fibre sensor counts. What you give up is not label range.
When it is the right answer
The platform cannot carry the load. At 2.65 kg against 6.5 kg, the mini body is the difference between a feeder that the platform handles comfortably and one that pushes it.
The long axis is the constraint. If the space you have runs across the platform rather than along it, a body that is 310 mm long instead of 450 mm may be the only one that fits.
The platform is not a catalogue placement machine. The mini body is specified for non-standard placement machines and automation equipment, which is where these constraints usually appear.
When it is the wrong answer
You need more than 98 mm of label width. Above that, the standard range goes to 148 mm, 198 mm and 248 mm on the larger models. The mini body does not cover those.
You need more than eight columns. The mini tops out at 1–8 depending on model; larger standard bodies reach 1–14.
You need the retract stripping action. The mini body is a forward push design.
The station is short of vertical space or depth. The mini body is taller and deeper than the standard body at the same width. If the constraint is height, it may be the wrong direction.
How to check it against your platform
Measure the space in three dimensions rather than one, note what the platform will carry, and then compare against the table above. The model table with every body in the range, including the mini and the standard sizes, is on the label feeder model table.
If you tell us the placement machine and the space you have, we will say whether the mini body fits or whether a standard body is the better choice.
